He is also an outstanding educator. He has been a teacher in the Huntington School District for the past 28 years.

Brian designed, created, and produced fishing camps at LuHi Summer Programs and is the creator of the Salty Dog Fishing School, the camp for kids who love to fish.

Some of Capt. Brian's Accomplishments Include:

  • SUNY Oswego BA Technology Education

  • NY Institute of Technology, Master's Degree Instructional Technology

  • 28 years Teaching Huntington School District

  • 23 years Teaching at LuHI Summer Programs

  • Owner Operator of Salty Dog Camps (Fishing, Boat Building and Mate Training Program)

The idea for the camp originated from combining two things I enjoy most: fishing

and teaching. I have been teaching in the Huntington UFSD for twenty eight years and I've always enjoyed talking to my students about fishing.

Seeing a child's eyes light up, when they tell stories about 'the time they caught the big one' reminds me of my roots in fishing.

I hope that by introducing children to the things that nurtured my love for the sport, I can help produce responsible fishermen of the future.
